Matara Welcomes the Caravan

SFO – Matara have organized the caravan activities very methodically. Today the caravan group arrived at Matara, in the southern part of the country. Most of the fishermen have supported the caravan, so that the caravan group was very satisfied when evaluating the day’s programs.
The street dramas were held at Dikkwella, Donra and Matara Bus Stand. All the drama sessions ended up with good results and we hope that the people might have learned many things out of these sessions. When the caravan group distributed the leaflets, posters and the stickers a lot of people came for clarification and presented their individual questions.
The main seminar was held at “Sama Vihara” and there were nearly 170 participants. The speakers were Mr. Wasantha, Mr. Jesudasan, Miss. Padma, Mr. Nalaka, Miss. Iresha and Mr. Samith. People came out with so many questions and the speakers were able to give satisfactory answers. There were new suggestions for a long sustainable lobby activity to gain the rights of people. At the end all the participants raised their hands up and very vehemently rejected WTO.
On the way to Galle they have also organized some aware session at Habaraduwa bus stand and two other public fairs.
