As we are fisher people based organization in Sri Lanka, A new fisher women group had joined with our Negombo partner organization “Negombo Lagoon Fishers Organization” to work with us in the future. According to Mr. Markas Fernando coordinator of LFO, this women group had been organized their selves and LFO was invited for obtaining its membership.
24 fisher women joined and they are willing to build up a good membership around the organization for leading there fishing communities on behalf of their future. “After we could find about this organization, its vision and the mission, we decided to join with NAFSO. Beyond NAFSO there is no way for us to find such an organization to involve fisher’s issues in the country” Evodini Fernando, A fisher woman.
