CSO Collective on CEDAW Sri Lanka celebrated women’s day under the theme of Unite ! Stand ! Move with Strength ! at Negombo.

Women factory workers, Women in agriculture, fisheries, plantation sector, mothers in the displaced camps, landless women, mothers of the disappeared persons families and some discriminated women of the local government elections attended the sessions and shared their views and plans for go forward.
Swarna Sumanasekara, the chair woman of national women committee of the ministry of women affairs said,”Civil Society Organizations need to do more to bring justice to women through CEDAW recommendations”.
The women leaders addressed the gathering shared how each sector is ready for perform their part on CEDAW recommendations.
One of the most attractive item on the agenda was the dance of the girl of southern fisheries organization.
