and Society Trust made three presentations in relation to the engagement of
international monitoring mechanism through CEDAW, ESCR and UPR process.
Representatives from NAFSO, CSR and LST were invited to share the experiences
in order to submit the particular reports. We shared our experience in
organizing civil society organizations to involve in the monitoring process in
the national and international level. We were able to highlight most important
elements to ensure meaningful participation in the process.
The discussion focused on
the importance of the CFS in furthering of the Right to Food, and new space for
accountability /policy coherence – emphasizing that. We recognized the value of the Geneva
institutions (treaty bodies, UPR, Rapporteurs) and that is the benefit of CFS
when engage with Geneva process. It is important to build a collaboration and
coordination with the international technical agencies that can support for the implementation of the Right to Food in
national level.
