Discussion with Government officers on development
and basic issues at village level in Mannar

Citizen Forum and "VALARPIRAI" District Women Federation of DIFSO
conducted discussion with Government officers on development and basic issues
at village level in Mannar on 08.02.2019. Representatives of villages shared their
experience in relation to issues of housing scheme, livelihood, basic needs (specially
drinking water), road construction, Illegal fishing issues and etc. Members
from Pasalai highlighted that relevant officers are not visiting in the field
properly.
After that officers commented based on the sharing of the
community leaders. They said that they have planned to discuss with Divisional Secretary and relevant authorities
related to the issues the community leaders raised. Development
officers, Samurdi officers, Social Service officer of Divisional Secretary and
Fisheries officer participated in the discussion.
