The National Fisheries Women's Federation meeting organized by the NAFSO
was held on 17th June 2019 at the training center in NAFSO. 42
members of the federation participated for the meeting from various district of
Sri Lanka. President of the federation Mrs. K.P.Padmalatha, Welcomed the participants
and explained objective of the meeting. Later the secretary of the federation Miss.
M.Malani presented the report of the previous meeting.
The women’s federation meeting that was held in Jaffna 12th
March 2019 was discussed and also the proposals that was brought forward during
the meeting was discussed initially, and then the current situation of district
of women’s program in district was discussed. The administrative Secretary
conducted session, on current the political situation of the country and the responsivities
of the members of the women’s federation.
Coordinator Mr.A.J.Jesudasan presented the final session on
developing a of program for the remaining four months of 2019. He highlighted importance
of peace and harmony and sustainable development. He further the set to select active women five
members from each district and have a 100-member team to organized to have a
national conference and also to have a women’s federation meeting in the
Northern province.
