.: Discussion on Climate change

'Climate change' discussion at the the Ceylon Mercantile, Industrial and General Workers Union (CMU) on 2019.10.11 in Kollupitiya. The discussion focused very much on environmental issues.

Some of the CMU members have attended a workshop in Hyderabad before and they wanted to have a follow up meeting to discuss and develop a program in Sri Lanka with the help of trade unions and civil society organizations. Chintaka Rajapaksha delivered the opening presentation. Members of trade unions raised some concerns based on political issues in Sri Lanka and its impact to environmental issues. Organizers collected our details and will appoint a committee to develop an action plan and call for a follow up meeting. I discussed with Nuwan and he informed them about our involvement with environment issues and the youth activities during the discussion.
