Corona pandemic has hit to the life of the people. People have been confined into their houses by enacting curfew to the whole Island. People are struggling to survive their lives because of not having opportunities for their income ways. Most of people who are in the poverty line have faced difficulties even to find sufficient food. They are not allowed to engage with their income generation activities as usual. Most of them are daily wagers. They need to external support to maintain the families.
Ampara District Fisheries Solidarity which is one of the partner
organizations of the National Fisheries Solidarity Movement provided
dry-rations for the people in Kannagipuram, Kadawapitti and Puliyasathapa in Ampara. The Ampara District Fisheries Solidarity got
the support from NCM Lanka institute for this welfare service. 50 dry-rations packs have been distributed
for the selected families. Mr. Kannan who is the Animator of Ampara District
Fisheries Solidarity coordinated the welfare service with the direction of
District Coordinator.
