National Fisheries
Solidarity Movement has given priority to promote home garden among the members
of the network. It has a master plan to provide necessary seeds for the partner
organizations in order to distribute the seeds to the members. Ampara District
Fisheries Solidarity distributed the seeds for their members in Kannagipurama,
Kavadapitti, Pottuvil, Pasarachchenei and Savalei on 22/23 of May 2020. Mr.
Kalandara Issadeen, district coordinator and Mr. Kannan Kokulan, animator of
the organization participated in the event. According to the Pandemic
situation, food sovereignty is highly concerned. Home garden is promoted as one
of the options for self- sufficient society.
