District Fisheries Solidarity organized a meeting of the youth in Kannagipuram
on 14 of July 2020. The meeting used to discuss the future plans to protect the
environment of the area. It has concerned to increase the number of members in
the youth committee through the intervention of protecting the environment. The
youth has concerned the different ways which directly influence to destroy the
forest cover. The forest is being destroyed by the intervention of the people.
Some groups which have connection with the politicians are making major impact
toward destroy the forest. The meeting was useful because it identified the role of the youth in protecting the
environment in the program. Mr. K. Issadeen, District Coordinator of Ampara
District Fisheries Solidarity initiated the youth meeting.
