The newly initiated TIDES - CS Fund supported  Program held on 17-19 August, with the participation of 5 Northern districts of Mannar, Jaffna, Kilinochchichi, Mullaitivu and Vavunia at NAFSO Sri Lanka auditorium with the participation of 25 activists, Women, Youth and fishers.

It was discussed the policies, programs, financial system by Pradeep Wanigasuriya, Admin Secretary; Lawrance Shanthikumar, Accountant; Gayan Ambegoda, Coordinator, 'People to People Dialogue; Pradeep Laksiri, Coordinator Youth Movement for Environmental and Social Change; Suba Shini National Women Coordinator; and Herman Kumara Wijethunge, convener of NAFSO Sri Lanka.

Suba Shini, the national women coordinator expressed her concern to implement the program with the deep commitment and collaboration with community leadership. "We hope, our leaders take the initiative to implement the program and need to own by them. The empowerment of community is not the duty of outside people. But, community need to take the lead to motivate the fellow members. What we can do is to facilitate the process. Unless people take necessary steps to empower vulnerable groups bring forward, we can not do anything from outside."

The people who attended the program said, "This was very important many ways. We learned the financial system of the organization, how the organization engage to ensure rights of vulnerable groups, important policies which govern the organization and root causes of poverty." We learned the power structures which govern the country and exploit resources and violate people's rights. And we realized why we need to unite poor and vulnerable people towards their liberation. We need to fight for rights as oppressed people, and irrespective of ethnic, religious, language diversity.

මෙහිදී, ජාතික කාන්තා සම්බන්ධීකාරක සුභාෂිනි දීපා මහත්මිය ප්‍රජා නායකත්වය
සමඟ ගැඹුරු කැපවීමකින් සහ සහයෝගයෙන් වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට තමන් තුල ඇති  අවශ්‍යතාවය පිළිබඳ ප්‍රකාශ කලාය. ඇය කියාසිටියේ "අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා, අපේ නායකයින් එම වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට මූලිකත්වය ගෙන කටයුතු කල යුතුයි කියා.  ප්‍රජාව සවිබල ගැන්වීම බාහිර පුද්ගලයන්ගේ යුතුකමක් නොවේ. සෙසු සාමාජිකයන් දිරිමත් කිරීමට ප්‍රජාව පෙරමුණ ගතයුතුයි. අපට කළ හැක්කේ ක්‍රියාවලියට පහසුකම් සැලසීමයි. අවදානමට ලක්විය හැකි කණ්ඩායම් ඉදිරියට ගෙන ඒම සඳහා ජනතාව අවශ්‍ය පියවර නොගන්නේ නම්, අපට පිටතින් කිසිවක් කළ නොහැක" යනුවෙනි.

මෙයට සහභාගී වූවන් පැවසුවේ, "මෙය බොහෝ ආකාරවලින් ඉතා වැදගත් වැඩසටනක් වූ බවයි. සංවිධානයේ මූල්‍ය පද්ධතිය, අවදානමට ලක්විය හැකි කණ්ඩායම්වල අයිතිවාසිකම් සහතික කිරීම සඳහා සම්බන්ධ වන ආකාරය, සංවිධානය පාලනය කරන වැදගත් ප්‍රතිපත්ති සහ දරිද්‍රතාවයේ මූලයන් අපි ඉගෙන ගත්තෙමු. "රට පාලනය කරන, සම්පත් සූරාකන, ජනතාවගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් උල්ලංඝනය කරන බල ව්‍යුහයන් අපි ඉගෙන ගත්තා. ඒ වගේම අපි තේරුම් ගත්තා,,, දුප්පත් සහ අවදානමට ලක්විය හැකි ජනතාව ඔවුන්ගේ විමුක්තිය වෙනුවෙන් එක්සත් කළ යුත්තේ ඇයි කියලා. ජනවාර්ගික, ආගමික, භාෂා විවිධත්වය නොසලකා පීඩිත ජනතාවගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් වෙනුවෙන් අප සටන් කළ යුතුයි" යනුවෙනි...
